Why patients choose this clinic

Four paths to explant — all valid, all heard

Every patient considering breast implant removal arrives with a different story. Some have lived with symptoms for years. Some have just learned their implants were recalled. Some simply want their bodies back. Doç. Dr. Erdal listens first, plans second, operates third.

If you have symptoms

Fatigue, brain fog, joint pain, autoimmune-like symptoms — sometimes called Breast Implant Illness (BII). Whether or not your implants caused these symptoms, your symptoms are real and deserve careful evaluation.

If your implants were recalled

Certain textured implants (Allergan Biocell, recalled 2019) have an established link to BIA-ALCL, a rare lymphoma. If you have these implants, screening and removal may be warranted.

If you've changed your mind

You don't need a medical reason to remove your implants. Some patients simply prefer a smaller, more natural look. Others want to age without the burden of replacement surgeries. Your choice is enough.

If your implants have aged

Implants are not lifetime devices. After 10-15 years, capsular contracture, rupture, or rippling may develop. Options include removal, replacement, or replacement plus lift.

Surgical approach

Specialized techniques for complete removal

Doç. Dr. Erdal performs breast implant removal using techniques selected for your specific anatomy and pathology. The right approach is the one that matches your case — not the one most discussed online.

En-Bloc Capsulectomy

The implant and its surrounding scar capsule are removed as a single, intact unit. Indicated for confirmed or suspected BIA-ALCL, ruptured silicone implants, and patients who prefer complete capsule removal.

Total Capsulectomy

The entire capsule is removed, but not necessarily in one piece. Appropriate when complete capsule removal is the goal but anatomical access requires segmental removal.

Explant with Mastopexy

Removal combined with a breast lift to address skin laxity left behind after implants are removed. Often the right choice for patients with stretched skin or significant volume reduction.

Capsule Pathology

Removed capsule tissue is sent for histopathological examination — standard practice especially for textured implants. Results guide further care and confirm absence of malignancy.

About Breast Implant Illness (BII) This site provides information based on FDA, EMA and current medical literature. BII remains a topic of ongoing medical research. While the mechanism is not fully understood, patient-reported symptoms are taken seriously. Doç. Dr. Erdal offers an evidence-based, balanced approach — neither dismissing your symptoms nor making claims unsupported by current science.

What to expect from your consultation

  1. Pre-consultation via WhatsApp: Send your implant records, current photos (3 angles), and a list of symptoms or concerns. A preliminary assessment is provided before you travel.
  2. In-person evaluation: Physical examination, imaging review (MRI if needed for rupture screening), discussion of your goals and concerns. No procedure pushed.
  3. Surgical plan in writing: Specific technique recommended (en-bloc, total capsulectomy, explant with lift, etc.), risks, expected recovery, and what pathological testing will be performed.
  4. Time to decide: Patients are encouraged to take time after consultation before booking. This is not a same-day-surgery clinic.
